Spring 2008
Spring is Here!!
Wow – my second director’s message! This could become a habit. I hope this newsletter finds you all healthy and happy. By now the show and riding season is well underway and I am in hopes that everyone is out enjoying their wonderful Arabian horses.
As I write this and am in the process of getting ready to go to Denver for my first AHA Board of Directors meeting and I will give you all a full report at the next Regional meeting in April.
Our next Regional meeting will be at Green Acres Ranch in Temecula on April 12th.
The meeting schedule will be as follows:
The show meeting will be at 4pm, with a cocktail hour at 5pm, dinner at 6pm and the general meeting to start at 7pm. As with our last meeting, we are planning to have committee discussions during the dinner portion of the meeting to make the more informal and hopefully more fun for all.
Region 1 Show – The show committee is working hard on the Regional Show and have some very exciting things planned for this year’s show. The pre-show is back by popular demand! It will be a single day pre-show on Wednesday, May 28th. The Progressive Dinner will be returning as well and will be held on Friday night, if you would like to participate in the dinner, please let Mary Ann Hughes know. You can bring your own food for the progressive dinner or we can link you up with a caterer. In addition, we will be introducing a new payback program for 12 classes at the show. We will be giving either an award (saddle, gift certificate) or $1,000 to 12 classes. Hopefully, everyone got a copy of the premium in with their magazine. If you can volunteer time at the show, we really need you! Please contact Mimi Gaffey at gaffey@cox.net.
Website – Don’t forget to go to the website and look at the CALENDAR!! All of the Regional activities, plus shows and club activities can be put on the calendar. Please let me know if you would like to have your club’s activities placed there. We are looking to expand the website and utilize it considerably more in the future. The website address is: www.aharegionone.org
See you in April!
